Fast and efficient mixing of gas and liquid

Biotech Fluidics has introduced Mott Micro Spargers made from porous stainless steel, designed to improve gas-liquid contact by generating fine microbubbles. This enhances mass transfer rates, boosts reaction yields, or reduces gas usage. Available in media grades from 2–15 μm, they offer flexibility for different setups. Standard tip threads include M5x0.8 with O-ring groove or 10-32 UNF, with adapter kits and custom options available for larger orders.

Increase Bioreactor Yield

Oxygen’s low solubility in cell culture media makes efficient delivery challenging. Porous metal micro spargers significantly improve gas-liquid mass transfer by producing much smaller bubbles, increasing surface area and boosting transfer rates by 100–400% compared to standard methods. This leads to higher yields in bioreactors and fermentors. Biotech Fluidics offers a range of micro sparger tips with various porosities to suit different oxygen or CO₂ transfer and stripping needs

Robust Design with High Cleanability

The porous metal sparger products manufactured by Mott Corporation withstand temperatures up to 1700°F (925°C) in reducing or neutral environments and 1450°F (787°C) in oxidizing atmospheres and differential pressures in excess of 3000 psig (206 bar).

They can be cleaned in-situ with blowback (gas) or back pulse (liquids) methods. The porous metal products can be washed or purged with water, solvents, bleach, caustic or acid solutions. They also can be autoclaved, steam purged or cleaned ultrasonically.
